Welcome to Senjo Martial Arts your home for realistic martial arts training. Senjo means battlefield in Japanese, and here at Senjo Martial Arts, we emphasize modern practical self defense.

Our training prepares one for street encounters, and how to survive in a very hostile world. Although we are a modern martial arts academy we teach in a very traditional way. We believe that discipline, honor and respect have long been missing in today's martial arts.

Feel free to browse our site and visit the FAQ section for more details about Senjo Martial Arts.

Kanbun Uechi was the founder of Uechi-ryū, one of the primary karate styles of Okinawa.
Japan began a program of universal male conscription in Okinawa in the late 1800s.

In 1897 at the age of 19, Kanbun fled to Fuzhou in Fukien Province, China to fulfill his dreams of studying martial arts with Chinese masters. Uechi received a certificate of mastery in 1904, and he later opened his own dojo in Nansoye, China.

Kanō Jigorō was the founder of judo. Judo was the first Japanese martial art to gain widespread international recognition, and the first to become an official Olympic sport.

Pedagogical innovations attributed to Kanō include the use of black and white belts, and the introduction of dan ranking to show the relative ranking between members of a martial art style. Well-known mottoes attributed to Kanō include "Maximum Efficiency with Minimum Effort" and "Mutual Welfare and Benefit."

Koshikan Aiki Jujitsu is the modern art of self-defense developed by Shihan Carroll Little, a Kudan (9° Black Belt) of Sanuces Ryu Ju Jitsu, a style of Jujitsu founded by Grand Master Dr. Moses Powell.

In addition to Sanuces Ryu Ju Jitsu, Shihan Carroll Little is a high-skilled and educated practitioner of several other martial arts systems, such as Atemi Ryu Jujitsu, Vee Arnis Jujitsu, Kenpo Karate, Seven Star Praying Mantis as well as traditional Boxing.
